Sailed with Univan, from 2013 to 2015, on bulk carriers/ loggers as Master, carrying various bulk cargoes..
Sailed on m.v.Allcargo Laxmi, bulk carrier, from Oct 2012 to Feb 2013, carrying steel coils, coal, grain, raw sugar and logs.
Sailed with Egon Oldendorff (Oldendorff Carriers), Luebeck, from 1991 to 2006, on bulk carriers and multipurpose vessels.
1991 to 1996 as Chief Officer.
1996 to 2006 as Master.
First command was on self - discharging bulk carrier (approx 3000 cu.m/hr by conveyer belt) trading in the North Sea region carrying granite aggregates from Glensanda in Scotland to ports in Northern Europe.
Occasionally carried coal from Poland to UK and iron ore concentrate from Narvik to Hamburg.
Next vessels were multipurpose tween deckers w/cranes on time charter to Tasman Orient Line carrying dairy products, fish in reefer containers, paper pulp, news-print rolls, veneer, mdf boards, timber and logs from N Zealand to SE Asia, China.
On the return leg carried steel, vehicles & bulldozers and occasionally yachts on dk.
One of the vessels in between was operated by Hoegh Line trading from Indonesia to US East Coast via Colombo, Mumbai, Suez and back. Had gantry crane along with normal cranes on board with numerous specialized cargo handling gear for unitized cargoes. Main cargoes from Indonesia were rubber, coffee and cocoa. From Mumbai it was mainly containers and steel. From US carried containers and rice in bulk while from Canada it was pulp and news print rolls.
Last three vessels were bulk trampers carrying the usual bulk commodities like ore, coal, grain, fertilizer, steel coils, steel bars, aluminium ingots & wood pulp.
As Chief Officer with Oldendorff , first vessel was a gearless bulk tramper.
Next two were self - discharging bulkers operating in the North Sea region mainly carrying granite aggregates.
Then worked on a Laker trading across the Atlantic with bulk grain from the Great Lakes to Continent and steel coils, bars, beams etc on the return leg from Europe.
Last vessel as C/O was a self- discharging bulk carrier operating along the US East Coast and Canada carrying coal, gypsum , lime-stone & coal.
Sailed with Damodar Bulk Carriers from 1978 to 1990 as C/O, 2/O, 3/O and Cadet.
Most of the vessels were bulk trampers carrying the usual bulk commodities like grain, ore and coal. One was a general cargo tween decker with derricks where served as 3/O and 2/O, carried cement, fish-meal, fertilizer etc in bags, unitized packs of polythene pellets, aluminum ingots etc.
