- Actively involved in managing construction of 225Kv transmission line from Ivory Cost, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea.

- Completed the store construction at Bumbuna required for the storage of tower parts.

 

 

 

- Sole responsibility for technical management of 7 vessels, fleet included OSVs, Tugs and Crew Boats. 

- Coordinates repair and maintenance functions furnished operating fleet to minimize loss of revenue and cost of repairs, Reviews repair request and compares request with previous work, accomplished on ship concerned and similar vessels, to determine that expenditures are economically sound.

- Prepares recommendations for work, and initiates procurement of materials on competitive rates as previously the company was procuring spares at much higher cost.

- Inspects machinery, equipment, or spaces outlined in work request, draws up job specifications, and obtains bids from Contractors or shipyards to perform repairs.

- Maintains contact with contractors to ensure completion of work at minimum cost, Investigates machinery casualties to determine cause, and advises ship's officers in methods of operation to prevent recurrence of casualty or mal operation.

- Maintains records of engineering costs for each vessel, such as repairs, supplies, and personnel.

- Monitored the compliance of all regulatory requirements to include Classification Society surveys, vessel-specific documentation and certifications.

- Prepared, justified, defended, allocated and administered the budget and funds for all assigned port operations and maintenance programs; directing the most efficient and cost effective expenditure of funds assuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget for example before joining the company was spending around 7000 USD a month on a single vessel maintenance cost as most of the work was attended by outside workshop, same was later on done by ships staffs( Chief engineer) by supplying them spare parts well in time and getting update on the inventory on regular basis and maintaining the records for the periodic inspection of the machinery.

 

 

I joined Ocean King on a one year fixed term contract to prepare a new offshore support vessel for operations, and taking care of the two existing offshore vessels having sole responsibility for the technical department. The vessel was made ready for operation and successfully delivered to company from Nanjing Shipyard China.

 

- Directly managed ship, fleet and shipyard operations as well as repair programs including cost estimating and overseeing of various contractor methods and procedures using standard marine engineering practices

- Monitored plant performance and operation while also maintaining records, logs and files in regards to voyages and the company’s Safety Management System and International Safety Management Code

- Experienced in surveying oceangoing vessels’ general condition and appraise types of repairs and cost including equipment, labor, and parts in a timely and effective manner.

- Shipyard duties included familiarity of vessel construction, hazardous material disposal and documentation, operations, and maintenance and repair projects while instructing engine department personnel as to the safe and proper operation of these duties.

- Directed all preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment and systems taking into consideration budget planning, logistics support and personnel/contractor oversight.

- Implemented inventory system and efficient requisitioning of supplies for all engine  and deck departments. 

 

 

Sailing as Junior Engineer my prime duty on ship is to assist senior engineer onboard to maintain engine, its auxiliaries and other electro mechanical system of the ship in perfect running condition for which round the clock monitoring was done and remedial measures taken immediately wherever required.

During my time at MSI, I took time out for 2 years to complete my various upgrading courses and classes required for class IV COC
