In January-September 2017, seaports of Ukraine handled 98 mln t of cargo, up 1.3%, year-on-year, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 74.4 mln t (+ 2.3%, year-on-year) including 29 mln t of grain (+11.2%), 15.5 mln t of ore (- 10.4%), 10.1 mln t of mining and metal product (-19.1%) and 4 mln t of vegetable oil (+ 35.1%); import – 13.9 mln t (+17.3%) including 3.8 mln t of coal (+42.3%) and 575,000 t of oil products (+29.1%).
Transshipment of transit cargo totaled 8.5 mln t (+ 4.2%) including 3.2 mln t of coal (up more than 2-fold).
Transshipment of coastal trade cargo amounted to 1.1 mln t (-71%, year-on-year).
The following ports have shown the largest volumes of cargo handling: Yuzhny port – 31.7 mln t (+ 7%), Odessa – 17.9 mln t (- 3.8%), Nikolaev – 17.1 mln t (+ 6.7%), Chernomorsk – 12.6 mln t (+ 8.8%). The highest growth was demonstrated by the stevedore seaport «Olvia» – 25.6% to 5.4 mln t.
Container transshipment was almost flat, year-on-year, at 433,000 ТЕUs (-2.3%).
